Guided Group Walking Holidays

This is a holiday for you walkers that want a relaxing holiday where everything is taken care of for you. From the moment you arrive at the airport until the time that we drop you back, we take care of all the details involved in your holiday. Your accommodation, food, transport and walking trips are all included in the price. We personally supervise all aspects of your holiday to make sure that you have an enjoyable stay on the Costa Tropical. This is also an opportunity to meet other like-minded people who enjoy the great outdoors.

Our Walking holidays run from September through until June....On a weekly basis. We also can cater for those of you who would like a shorter break……...or longer. Let us know your holiday dates and we will try and accommodate you.

A typical week’s holiday starts with your pick-up at the airport. We then drive to the pretty coastal town of Almunecar along the Mediterranean Highway, about 70 km distance. The drive has some beautiful views of the Mediterranean on one side and the Sierras on the other.

From Almunecar we wend our way up into the hills to our accommodation, about a 15 minute drive. Once at “The Country House Almunecar “(see accommodation) we will unpack and enjoy the views and tranquillity. Once settled in and chilled out, maybe with a glass of local wine, we will sit down to our evening meal together, meet the other guests and chat about the coming weeks walking etc. There is plenty of space at the house and the surrounding land so we are not on top of each other. There is also satellite tv and dvds and music. Nigel is also a musician so bring your instruments if you are in any way musical.

To prepare us for the days walk we start at 8am with a continental breakfast…….you can also opt for bacon and eggs if you like! We take our food very seriously……..and throughout the week endeavour to provide a varied and wholesome diet including salads, fresh vegetables and fruit……all local produce….we also have a glass of wine or two with the evening meal .

At 9am we set off down the hill in the Land Rover to drive to our days walking start point. Most of our walks are within a 20 km radius of the house, so by 10am we should be at our destination ready to set off. A lot of the walks are planned in a loop so we are not covering the same ground twice. The days’ walking is at a leisurely pace with stops at any points of interest or exceptional natural beauty. By 1pm we are ready for our picnic lunch, about a half an hour break and then continuing the walk. We normally finish up at 4 – 5 pm depending on the distance of the walk. We then head back to Almunecar to have some time to chill out.

You then have an hour or so in Almunecar to enjoy the beach and shops and bars and the old town before we head off back to the house to change and maybe have a siesta before the evening meal at 8pm.
