Self guided walking

This is a holiday for you walkers that are more experienced and don’t want to come under the umbrella of a guided walk. You will probably be a group of family or friends and feel that with our experience of local walks and conditions you will be able to enjoy planning and undertaking your own walking itinerary using “ The Country House Almunecar “ as your ideal walking base.

Group guided walks

We have 6 separate walks on 6 different days, picking you up from the house at 9am and finishing the days walk at about 5pm. The other day is “ airport or changeover “ day. Your evening meal is prepared and served at The Country House Almunecar at around 8pm.

About your hosts

Who are we?

Nigel and Annakarin are your guides and hosts.

Nigel originally from Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, U.K.has lived in Spain for the last 15 years and speaks fluent Spanish as well as some French and German.  All his life he has been interested in sport and the outdoors.  For him, Andalucia is a place with a wealth of natural beauty to discover and the perfect climate to enjoy the outdoors. He loves sharing this experience with people and continues to discover new and wonderful locations to host these walks.

Annakarin is from Sweden and in 2007 moved permanently to Almuñécar. With the fantastic climate here in Andalucia Annakarin says “I’m lucky to have this opportunity in life to live and work in this amazing part of Southern Europe with its beautiful nature and climate. All the time we meet new people, explore new places and have new and interesting experiences.

Although the principal language on the walking tours is English, we try and encourage a “European” flavour. We have walkers from all over the north of Europe, Scandinavia, Germany, Holland, France, Belgium as well as the U.K.

Hopefully, after a weeks walking with us, you will take home with you a genuine feeling and affection for this unique part of Andalucian Spain.
